Parinday II
Our beautiful wooden Parinday are brightened up with dollops of deep primary colours. Some of the lighter woods are stained with a bright colour, while allowing the grains and natural texture of the wood be felt. Each bird is made out of waste wood, a combination of teak, pinewood and red meranti, and symbolizes our intent to work towards creating beautiful objects with a purpose. Depending on the availability of the wood at any given point, each piece is unique.
Parinday are available as a set of either 3, 6 or 12 pieces. Each bird in every set is a different pattern, and made out of a combination of multiple waste woods.
They can be hung as a small, dynamic installation in any part of your home or garden, and make for a unique and sustainable present for your loved ones.
Product Story
Our Parinday are the catalyst for the beginning of our journey toward exploring materials, objects and processes at a small scale.
Building upon discussions of how we can explore material and technique in our practice, especially the use of architectural waste materials, we began with a small experiment with pieces of left over wood from our sites. We started with a puzzle, (the tangram) explored it, and iterated it to create these abstract forms.
The prototypes were handcrafted in our studio, each one tells the story of the creative energy of the member of our team who crafted it, and they all come together beautifully, as a whole, a physical manifestation of the way we work as a studio.
